In denial at Weird Bingo in Waukegan
Shock, disbelief, giddiness, depression -- all sure signs of BSD - Bingo Stress Disorder. More often than not, these reactions fade, are forgotten, and present little need for alarm.

Bingo is NOT for sissys

I hate this game, but I can't stop lovin' it!!
Face it: Bingo is a rough and tumble sport, a take-no-prisoners form of social aggression that pits pal against pal. Daughters vs. their Mothers; Mothers vs. muthers -- it's you against the world. But you're not a wimp. You play.

You sit there looking cool, waiting for one number. Just one.  You wait -- barely breathing.  Then you're best buddy calls bingo -- and that's the last thing you remember!!

Brought to you as a public service from Weird Bingo in Waukegan. Got a problem?  Good luck with that.

Bingo Players Hold Intellectual Edge -- says misquoted researchers.

Weird Bingo players are smarter
Misquoted Researchers at the University of Calgary confirm intellectual edge bingo players have over the population in general.  Their studies demonstrated that the brain cells of bingo players swell as each numbered ball is called. This increase in brain mass equates to the overall trend of bingo players scoring higher than the general population on multi-tasking tests involving markers, paper, and little jade buddhas.

The BBC reports that "tests showed bingo players were faster and more accurate than non-bingo players in a range of tests measuring mental speed, memory and the ability to pick up information".

Julie Winstone, from the University of Southampton's Centre for Visual Cognition at the Department of Psychology, (apparently having nothing better to do,) has been testing bingo players' mental agility over the last year.

BINGO
Bingo cards are sold in $5 and $10 packs. If you've never played before, start with a $5 pack. It's better to play fewer cards and not miss any numbers. Feeling ambitious? Try $10 or $15. You'll need a sharp eye and quick hands to play more than that.

St. Annie's Special Bingo
Cards for the St. Annie's Special are sold for $1 per sheet (three cards) or 6 sheets for $5 This game is played right after half-time for a Bingo Jackpot of $500.

Is that TWO $500 Bingo Jackpots?
Yup. Pretty nice, eh? No one else around here has two $500 Bingo Jackpots. Some places don't even have one! Why play for small bucks?

Tell us ...
Tell us it's your first time and we'll make sure you get all the facts you need to have a great night.

St. Anastasia Bingo loves Beginner's Luck

We say it all the time -- St. Anastasia Bingo loves Beginner's Luck. A few weeks ago was no exception as one first-timer hit it lucky with a $4500 Lightning Jackpot. Susan was one excited girl. As her lucky number called she let out a "whoo!" "I can't belive it" she kept repeating. She met new friends at St. Anastasia Bingo near Gurnee in Waukegan, and they celebrated with her.

Mickey Warner - a great bingo player

Mickey Warner -- our friend and a great Bingo player.
Weird Bingo in Waukegan regrets to report the passing of our friend, Mickey Warner. Mickey passed away after a long illness. We'll remember Mickey for being a fun bingo player. She sat in the back corner with her friends Hillary and Penny. Her laugh and her wise-cracks made Wednesday nights more fun for everyone. Farewell, Mickey. We'll all miss you.

Girls Night Out at Bingo in Waukegan

Fun time for friends at Weird Bingo in Lake County
at Waukegan's St. Anastasia Bingo
There's nothing nicer than a bunch of friends playing Bingo -- especially at Weird Bingo in Waukegan on Wednesday night. Just look at their happy faces, their big grins and listen to the laughing as they try to socialize, much on snacks and play Bingo, Lightning and Thunder. Of course, it's all an act. Secretly they're trying to out-do their friends and be the first to yell BINGO! Friends are nice, but there's nothing like winning.

Check out our friends in the "Pictures of the fun times at Weird Bingo in Waukegan, Illinois" photo galllery.

Getting ready for another week of WeirdBingo

Ok so no Bears in the Super Bowl. Come drown your sorrow with us this Wednesday @ Weird Bingo at St. Anastasia in Waukegan.
It'll be ok. Really.

A Lawyer, a Bride and a Pregnant Lady Walk into a Bingo Hall...

Friends bring friends to play at WeirdBingo.com in Waukegan, Illinois
Ok it sounds like the set up for a bad joke, right? Well, it's actually true. Last week a Lawyer, a Bride and a Pregnant Lady walked into Weird Bingo at St. Anastasia in Waukegan, Illinois. Brandie, Chrissy and Lauren are three friends at a crossroads. One is pregnant, one just graduated from law school and passed the bar, and the third is running off to Maui with her guyfriend to tie the knot. This called for something special to mark the occassion. Chrissy googled it and came up with WeirdBingo.com. The trio traveled an hour just to play. Was this the bonding experience they expected? Was it their rite of passage? Can they find now happiness at home, in the courts or in the sun, surf and sand? We may never know.
